It was racing day in the City of Portland as dozens of young racers went full throttle in the parking lot of the Portland Aquatics Center. Portland residents brought their 12-volt sports cars, tractors, jeeps, and SUV Power Wheels along with their helmets and racing skills to take part in the fun. The City of Portland's inaugural Power Wheels Grand Prix comprised of two race classes: Limited Pro Stock for children 2 to 4 years old, and Pro Stock for children 5 to 7 years old.
The oval-style track went around the Portland Aquatics Center parking lot and included a pit spot area for family and friends to assist drivers. The first-place finisher from each heat moved on to the next round until one champion from each racing class was declared. 4 year old Kaiden Wood came in first place in the Limited Pro Stock class and 6 year old Parker McKinny came in first place in the Pro Stock class.
