2. Canvass of the general election: The City Council will consider the returns of the May 15, 2004 general election (a mayor and 2 council members will be elected to 2 year terms of office). The newly elected mayor and council members will be seated after taking oaths of office and given an opportunity to address the public.
3. Election of mayor pro tempore: The City Council will elect one of its members as mayor pro tempore for a 1 year term of office. The city council may conduct one or more executive sessions to deliberate the appointment and duties of a mayor pro tempore according to Section 551.074 of the Texas Local Government Code. No action may be taken by the City Council during the executive session.
