B.    General action items, resolutions and ordinances

5.    Minutes: The City Council will consider the minutes of the January 7, 2003 special workshop and regular City Council meeting.

 

6.    Public hearing:  The City Council will conduct a public hearing to solicit comments from citizens and other interested parties concerning an ordinance that would require establishments with amusement redemption machines to operate with permits and pay fees.

 

    Rules of participation:

A.    Persons who wish to comment or present questions must fill out and turn in a speaker card before the public hearing is opened. (Mayor Burke will notify you when it’s your turn to speak and direct you to the podium).

Persons who wish to comment or present questions must identify themselves and their places of residence.

All comments and questions must be presented to or through Mayor Burke.

.    Persons who wish to comment or present questions will only be given 3 minutes to do so.
    E.    Comments and questions will not be permitted after the Mayor has closed the public hearing   
    

7.    Ordinance regulating establishments with amusement redemption machines:  The City Council will consider the first reading of an ordinance requiring establishments with amusement redemption machines to operate with permits and pay fees.

 

8.    Resolution establishing a moratorium on the installation of amusement redemption machines:  The City Council will consider a resolution establishing a 120-day moratorium on the installation of amusement redemption machines.

 

9.    Master agreement for mutual aid: The City Council will consider a master agreement for mutual aid that has been developed by the Coastal Bend Council of Governments.

 

10.   Resolution authorizing general election: the City Council will consider a resolution authorizing a May 3, 2003 general election (4 Council Members will be elected to 2 year terms).

 

11.   Engagement of engineering firm: The City Council will consider the engagement of Naismth engineering for work associated with the Doyle Addition/Nueces Bay Subdivision Sanitary Sewer Improvement Project and Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements.

 

12.    Change order to public works center improvement project: The City Council will consider a $145,000.00 change order negotiated with Teal Construction to construct a new laboratory building near the wastewater treatment plant.

 

13.    Ordinance abolishing Traffic Advisory Board: The City Council will consider the final reading of an ordinance that abolishes the Traffic Advisory Board.

 

14.    Ordinance increasing water rates:  The City Council will consider the final reading of an ordinance increasing the rates for treated and untreated water.
