B. General action items, resolutions and ordinances
5. Minutes: The City Council will consider the minutes of the July 17, 2001 regular council meeting.
6. Ratification of Portland Community Center Complex Development Corporation decisions: The City Council will consider ratifying August 7, 2001 decisions of the board of directors of the Portland Community Center Complex Development Corporation.
7. Assignment of solid waste collection franchise: The City Council will consider the assignment of the solid waste collection and disposal franchise to BFI waste services of Texas, LP., following a presentation by Bob Bradley, district sales manager.
8. Agreement to transfer responsibility for water service: The City Council will consider an interlocal agreement with the San Patricio Municipal Water District that transfers responsibility for Northwest extraterritorial jurisdiction water service to the city.
9. Contract for hotel occupancy tax financed services: The City Council will consider a contract for hotel occupancy tax financed services with the Portland Chamber of Commerce.
10. Lease agreement: The City Council will consider a lease agreement with the Portland Chamber of Commerce for office space and room use at the community center.
11. Five-year capital program: The City Council will consider a 5-year capital program (October 1, 2001 - September 30, 2006) and a resolution formally adopting it
12. Ordinance granting special use permit: The City Council will consider the second and final reading of an ordinance granting a special use permit for business records storage and climate controlled storage at 1605 U.S. Highway 181 South to Reliant Storage Solutions, Ltd.
13. Ordinance creating Reinvestment Zone No. 2: The City Council will consider the second and final reading of an ordinance creating an ad valorem tax abatement reinvestment zone in Olde Town (properties located within the Olde Town Mixed Use Zoning District).
14. Executive Session: The City Council will conduct an executive session according to Sections 551.071 (consultation with city attorney) and 551.072 (deliberation regarding real property) of the Local Government Code to discuss the acquisition of utility easements between U.S. Highway 181 and the NorthShore Country Club.
The City Council may formally act on this agenda item in public at the conclusion of the executive session.
