| Summary: The Bell/Whittington Library, an award winning facility operated by the City of Portland, Texas (www.portlandtx.com), is seeking qualified persons for the position of Library Director. Portland sits along Corpus Christi Bay, just 5 minutes from downtown Corpus Christi. The Library Director is responsible to the City Manager for the operation of the Bell-Whittington Library (9,000 square foot facility). The Library Director manages 5 employees with a current annual budget of $415,000. Minimum qualifications for this department head position include an ALA accredited graduate degree in library science, 3 years of full-time library experience and 1 year of full-time supervisory experience in a library.
