Police Department
Mission Statement
It is the mission of the Portland Police Department to safeguard the lives and property of the people we serve, to reduce crime and the fear of crime, to bring those who commit crime to justice and to work with our citizens to improve their quality of life. We will do this with honor and integrity, always conducting ourselves with the highest ethical standards so that we maintain our public's confidence.

The Portland Police Department consists of: 
Administration: 1 Chief of Police, 1 Division Coordinator, 1 Police Clerk, 1 Sergeant/IT Manager
Criminal Investigations Division:  1 Lieutenant, 1 Sergeant  Detective, 3 Corporal Detectives and 1 Records Clerk
Patrol Division:  1 Lieutenant, 4 Sergeants, 14 Patrol Officers, 1 SRO Sergeant, 1 SRO Corporal, 1 Special Assignment Officer
Communications: 1 Communications Supervisor, 9 Communications Officers
Code Enforcement:  2  Code Enforcement Officers
Animal Control:  2 Animal Control Officers
School Crossing Guards:  11 part-time Crossing Guards.
