Pooch-A-Palooza H2O

Bring your pooch to make a splash at the Portland Aquatic Center for our 2nd Annual Pooch-A-Palooza H2O! Fun for the whole family, only dogs in the water please. There will be a swimsuit contest and special doggie concession. Registration will be required, be sure to bring current vaccination record.
When:      Saturday, September 9, 2017
Time:       4:30-6:30 PM
               Swimsuit contest: 5:00 PM
Cost:       $5 per dog/ 2 dogs per adult only please


Boo Bash Triathlon
Come join us and Al Willeford Chevrolet for the 5th Annual Boo Bash Triathlon! We have something for everyone from the weekend warrior up to the elite athlete!
Newbie – 200 Yard Swim, 6 Mile Bike, 1 Mile Run
Sprint Tri – 400 Yard Swim, 14 Mile Bike, 5K Run
Sprint Relay – 400 Yard Swim, 14 Mile Bike, 5K Run completed by 2-3 people.
Each finisher will receive a t-shirt, medal, food and entertainment!

Boo Bash
Calling all Ghosts and Goblins! Come out to enjoy the 12th Annual Boo Bash. Events will include a costume contest for children and pets, a pumpkin decorating contest, carnival games and inflatable slides. Contests are limited to the first 30 pre-registered in each age group. Registration ends promptly at 6:45 PM. The Blood Mobile will be on site; parents donate blood and save a life. An easy way to make a big difference in your community while attending this FREE event!

Toy Drive
The Portland Parks and Recreation Department will host a Toy Drive to benefit Christmas for Kids Year Round. Drop off a new, unwrapped toy at the Portland Community Center December 1-14, 2017. Make a difference in our community by making Christmas just a little brighter for children in Portland!

Parade of Lights
Santa Claus is coming to…PORTLAND! Welcome Santa to town as he travels the illuminated parade route through the community. The 2017 Christmas in Portland Parade of Lights will begin at 6:00 PM on Monday, December 4th. Individuals and companies who are interested in participating in the parade may complete a registration form available at the Portland Community Center. Don’t forget about our Toy Drive benefitting Christmas for Kids Year Round. Drop off a new, unwrapped toy at the Portland Community Center!

Christmas in Portland

The 14th Annual Christmas in Portland event, sponsored by the City of Portland and the Kiwanis Club of Portland, will be held Saturday, December 9, 2017. Festivities will include pictures with Santa, Christmas crafts, face painting, cookie decorating, Christmas bingo, letters to Santa, hayrides, winter carnival games, refreshments and appearances by Rudolph and Frosty! Parents be sure to bring your camera to take a picture with Santa. All participants are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to this FREE event. All toys will be donated to Christmas for Kids Year Round. Make a difference in the life of a child in your community!

Pooch-A-Palooza & Santa
Calling all dogs! Do you want to tell Santa what you want for Christmas? Well, head on over to the Kaiah Dog Park and get your picture with Santa. Straight from the North Pole, Santa and his elves will be taking photos with your pooch. Don’t miss this FREE event! We encourage the community to give back and bring a donation of dog food. All donations will be distributed between Portland Animal Control and Last Chance Rescue. All dog park rules apply.

Father Daughter Dance, 80’s Night
The Portland Parks & Recreation Department will be hosting the 9th Annual Father/Daughter Ball. All school age girls are invited to bring their father, grandfather, uncle, brother or other father figure to the event. The Community Center will be decorated in a 80’s theme and snacks will be provided. Current pop music and Dad’s favorites will be spun by a professional DJ. A photographer will be available at an additional cost. Guests are asked to wear semi-formal attire. And back by popular demand…the fun photo booth, karaoke and sundae bar! Tickets can be purchased at the Portland Community Center and all Kidz Klub sites.
