Job Summary-Summer Kidz Kamp Coordinator

Seeking a highly motivated and responsible person to direct the summer camp for the City of Portland. The ability to multi-task, motivate staff and develope exciting programming.

Responsible for programming and overseeing Kidz Kamp as per the directives of the Youth Services Supervisor, daily supervision of staff, site maintenance, well-being and safety of children. Will be responsible for supervising Kidz Kamp staff in a professional manner, enforcing program policies and procedures while fostering a positive team concept. Will communicate all program information and issues to the Youth Services Supervisor at weekly meetings. Responsible for maintaining certifications in CPR and First Aid.

Kidz Kamp Leader

Responsible for implementing daily age-appropriate recreational activities for children as per the directives of the Kidz Kamp Supervisor and the Youth Services Supervisor. Must actively participate and interact with children while monitoring their safety and well-being. Will be responsible for maintaining certifications in CPR and First Aid as well as attending monthly in-service trainings.

Lifeguard

Summary

Responsible for Aquatic Center patron safety and well being. Monitor patrons at aquatic center and work to prevent emergencies by enforcing all pool rules and regulations. Must respond quickly to emergencies and administer CPR, AR and first aid to guests if necessary. Must maintain cleanliness and safety of facility. Participate in routine maintenance and attend required traiing sessions. Attendance is an essential function of this position. Hours vary and may include weekdays, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Maintain the safety of patrons of the Aquatic Center and prevent aquatic emergencies
Maintain 10/20 protection zone while on stand
Present a professional image as a lifeguard and city employee
Enforce Aquatic Center rules and regulations consistently
Attend in-service training in order to keep license current and valid
Operate RecWare POS functions and collect fees during winter season
Clean restrooms, pool deck and other areas of the facility as assigned

Water Aerobics Instructor

Teaches scheduled classes, beginning and ending on time while providing adequate warm-up, exercise and cool down
Adapt teaching approaches to age, experience and ability of participants so they can meet course objectives
Communicate regularly with participants to ensure they are aware of progress and maintain a positive exercise experience for class participants.
Prepares appropriate equipment, music and handouts for each class
Ensures safety standards are met and facility policies are adhered to
Keeps Aquatics Specialist informed of facility needs and/or significant problems

Swim Lesson Instructor

Participate in regular in-service training sessions

Aquatic Center Concession Stand Attendant

Summary

Responsible for greeting patrons in a friendly and courteous manner, daily maintenance and upkeep of facility/equipment, accepting payment and distributing food and beverages as well as preparing and serving food within the health department codes in the concession stand at the Aquatic Center . Includes setting up and breaking down concession stand as well as inventory and cashiering.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Be familiar with San Patricio County Health Code for concessions
Setting up concession stand before Aquatic Center opens including inventory and stocking
Breaking down concession stand at the end of day including closing out cash register, inventory and custodial duties in compliance with Texas State Health Codes
Communicate with Aquatic Specialist regarding inventory and equipment needs and/or maintenance
Communicate regularly patrons and staff while ensuring good public relations at all times
Complete records and reports in a timely manner and return them to Aquatic Specialist
Concessions is expected to work under the schedule set by the Aquatics Specialist including but not limited to weekends, evenings and holidays
Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisor
