Monster Mile


Swim at your own pace for fun, fitness anda free t-shirt! Wear a costume and be eligible for a prize. Particpants must keep track of thier own laps. Free for all to particpate. First 50 participants recieve a t-shirt. Please register by October 23, 2008.

Turkey Splash

Water Fitness


Aquacise
Aquacise, taught by US Water Fitness Association Certified Instructor Kristi Aquil, provides a high intensity water workout. Focus on cardio conditioning and strengthen all major muscle groups. Exercises are performed in 5 or more feet of water and goggles are required. Classes are held year round and registration is ongoing at the Portland Aquatic Center.

AquAttack
Aerobic kickboxing is one of hte hottest new workouts worldwide. It's energizing, powerful, uplifting and a fun and effective way to burn calories and tone your muscles. The water's resistance cushions and slows the explosive kicks and punches. THis not only helps prevent injuries but the added resistance strengthens and tones the muscles for an effective workout.

AquaAerobics
AquaAerobics is a low impact workout that is great for participants of all ages. This class uses the resistance of water to increase muscle tone, flexibility, range of motion and strength. The buoyancy of water decreases stress on your joints. The class is held in 4 feet of water.

Lap Swim
Lap swimming is an excellent workout for everyone from the aquatic enthusiast to the occasional swimmer. The Aquatics staff encourages individuals to keep fit by swimming, so we reserve a portion of each pool for lap swimming. One lap lane is dedicated to swimming laps during general swim hours. Swimmers must be able to swim the full length of the pool continuously without support.

Multiple programs at our facility may affect the number of lap lanes available. Lap swim is available year round, please see our seasonal hours for more information. Regular admission fees apply

Portland WaterCats
Join the summer swim team at the Portland Aquatic Center. The Portland WaterCats is a recreational swim team included within the Corpus Christi Summer Swim League. For further information contact Adam Scott at 919-971-1048.

Bay's Edge Aquatic Team (BEAT)
Bay's Edge Aquatic Team is a non-profit locally owned swim team with a vision to inspire and enable members to achieve excellence in the sport of swimming and in life. BEAT is a year round swim team that is part of the USA Swimming Association. Free 5 day trial memberships are available. Contact Adam Scott at 919-971-1048 for further information.
