We have the friendliest people, the best views of the Nueces Bay, the best fishing in South Texas along our shoreline and the safest community on the Gulf Coast. We have plenty of parks for the children to play in and recreational leagues for them participate in. We are constructing a new aquatic center and the Joe Burke Pavilion next to our community center complex for all our citizens to enjoy. We strive to keep Portland in great shape, provide excellent police and fire service and listen to you. We keep the tax rate as low as possible to maintain the services citizens want. If you are looking for a great place to live, I urge you to consider Portland where no one is a stranger and you will find, as many other have, there is no better place to live than Portland.
